How large of a charger are you all using for your fence chargers? I do not want to hurt my ducks when they finally go outside, but I do want to keep predators out. I am starting with 168 feet of fence and plan to at least double it once they get the hang of things. My hope is to allow them to free range when people are home and in the fence with free choice of their house when we are not . 5 mile chargers seem weak for 12 strand electronet but again I am accustomed to larger animals they can handle and need a good wallop. I would hope to discourage fox, raccoon and fisher cats as I think they are our most prevalent predators. If I am there I can take care of them, but the odds of Me waking up in the middle of the night to get there in time are slim.
Any thoughts?

You ever figure something out?

I ended up going with a 10 mile solar fencer zareba brand .15 joule IIRC. seems to work, im contemplating experimenting with white vinegar to keep the weeds under control around it and to protect the fence from me and the trimmer. I figure the white vinegar is unlikely to hurt the ducks should they ingest any and likely to taste bad enough that they don't anyway. I know epsom salt, vinegar and dish soap are recommended for week killing but im not sure I want to douse my fence with salt.
