Thoughts on this tractor?

We are planning to build this as a tractor, but extend it to 10'. Will this be sufficient for 6 hens?

If you go to ten that would be enough. As long as you make sure to move them to new grass or whatever they are on almost everyday.

Maybe...are you making the coop portion larger or just the run part?

I think your coop is going to be too tight. It's only 12 square feet. Each bird is basically a square foot herself, you've got half your space taken up simply with the birds standing still. Not much room there to get away from each other, or spread out when it's hot. Definitely no space for feed or water in the coop itself. Covering/roofing the run will help, but I still think you'll have some issues with crowding.
