Woke up this morning. Ducks are no where to be found. Find 2 separate areas in our pumpkin patch that had some feathers and a few "insides". Other than that there is no trace of them. We have cameras outside and was able to play back and heard the whole things around 12:44am. Lots of noise from the ducks. It sounded like one of them was dragged off first while the other day there suffering for about 10 minutes. Then sounds like that one was taken away. They were clearly very well devoured in those 2 spots. We think coyote or fox? I would appreciate any thoughts. I am extremely sad about this and would like to trap. Thank you all!

Your best guesses are your original thoughts of coyote or Fox. Both will return to look for more, so hopefully any others are locked up in a secure area.

I would think that there would be feathers all over the place if it was a coyote. Unless they took them somewhere else. Do coyotes take their prey?

Coyotes can snatch birds quickly, often with very few feathers. They take them elsewhere to eat. This time of year some have pups to feed, and some yearlings are setting out on their own, and looking for an easy meal.
