Thread subscription notifications?

I thought I was supposed to get e-mail notifications when there were replies to threads I am subscribed to?

Where are the settings for this option?

You get an email every first post since you last visited the website.

Did you click on "Subscribe to this topic" on the bottom left of the page? You will only get one notification, until you sign on again.

Just now saw the "subscribe to this topic" option at the bottom... grrr

Is there not an option to have this checked automatically?
