Luckily it is doing all those things and I have raised the brooder a little bit. The other three chicks are not pantingIs it eating and drinking and pooping OK?

It might be panting because its too hot?
It seems to be ok today . They are eating chick crumbs and drinking water. I shall be giving them a bit of grit tomorrow . I also have raised the level of their brooderSome video of the behavior might help here.

Young chick eating chick starter don't need grit. Grit isn't needed until they're older and start eating trests, bugs, worms, etc.It seems to be ok today . They are eating chick crumbs and drinking water. I shall be giving them a bit of grit tomorrow . I also have raised the level of their brooder

Unless it's a poor quality chick crumble, but most commercial chick starter has all the grit in it a young chick needs. Check the label and you should see it.Thanks for that info there is so much misinformation on Google etc
