I'm new to chickens, so I beseech the help of the more experienced
Our Rhode Island Red just started laying a few days ago. She's always been a very noisy bird but has gotten sooo much noisier now she's laying. She's generally quiet until around 10am when she begins making a crying, painful sound and she goes in and out of the nesting box obviously wanting to lay an egg but having some kind of difficulty. This goes on for roughly 3 hours then she finally lays and is quiet the rest of the day
Is this normal?
