Just got 3 little Goldline chicks and to be honest I had no idea what they were in regards to "Laying Hens".
Only that all the chicks at the Grange were spoken for so we headed out to a little feed and hay store out of town and found these little yellow dumplings.
Came home to research exactly what we had and they turn out to be very enthusiastic layers. They were 5 days old when we brought them home.
We had assembled their Chicken house the day before so that is secured and waiting for the big day. A cute little "3 Chicken Pre-fab".
They're 4 1/2 weeks old now and I've taken them out on "Field Trips" to the "Big House" for a couple of hours on these warmer days.
They seem to love that.
So, here I am, watching, reading, and enjoying the company of all of those who have taken the plunge into "Chickenhood".
It's been 30 years since I've had chickens so I feel like I've never done this before.
