Three new, confused pullets

Thanks for all the welcomes and advice! It's been a few weeks now and they seem to be used to the routine. They go up to their roost on their own now without me having to put them there.

I hope it's not too hot up there for them. I got an old pizza pie plate and filled it with water to make a little swimming pool for them to wade in, but so far they've just been drinking it!

Boy has it been hot! There are lots of ways to help keep your girls cool. I freeze 2 gallon soda bottles and place them in the girls favorite areas. I also freeze a smaller gatorade bottle and put it in their waterer to keep it as cool as possible although in this heat I've been changing it 2 times a day. Lots of frozen watermelon and filling ice cube trays with yogurt is also a nice treat to help them stay cool.
Best of luck on your new chicken adventures!!

Oh thanks, crittersitter - those are great tips! I noticed a shallow hole in the shade where the girls like to cool themselves, so yesterday I wrapped up some ice packs and put them in there, then covered it with leaves. They totally ignored it!! Or they seemed to, but maybe when my back was turned....? I will definitely try the gatorade and yogurt tricks.
