So my chicks have been out in their coop/run for about a month now. I have the same three chickens that will not go into the coop at night. Last time I had chicks, this process of going in and putting them into their coop at night only took about a week or so before they stopped.

That was true this time for all of the chicks except these three. I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions or if I should just keep doing what I'm doing (putting them in every night after dark).

Some birds just don't get it for some strange reason. It's usually the free-rangers that I've seen do this. Is this three a different breed from the others? Are the at the bottom of the pecking order? Those two factors can play a role.

Lacy let me try best to answer your question about pecking order. I haven't been able to spend enough time with the new chicks to honestly tell you their pecking order. What I can say is that they are roosting outside on the spot that is typically claimed by the top of the pecking order. It's an old tree, with a thick limb that sticks up. Only the top of the pecking order (from my previous chickens) got to claim this spot at any point of the day.

I have 6 breeds of chickens in this set of chickens. Both of my Blue Splash Marans are outside with one Golden Laced Wyandotte.

Some chickens prefer roosting in trees more than in coops. You can try locking those chickens in that coop for two weeks without letting them out to get them to forget the tree and roost in the coop. This works very well with just about any chicken I try it on except for my bantams. If it is around dusk when my bantams are free-ranging, they will return to my shed and try to roost in there even though it has been a year or two since they was aloud to roost in there full time.
If you try the two weeks thing and it still doesn't work, they keep trying to roost in the tree, my suggestion would be: Cut the tree down and put it somewhere that they can't find it. Some chickens are smarter and remember better than others, that's probably what you are dealing with. Your other chickens learn quicker.

Are there older birds involved too....or did you get rid of the older ones?:

How many birds in how big a coop(in feet by feet)?
The coop itself is 4x8'
My experience with the 4' per chicken in the coop is grossly over stated.
That may be, but your birds may be telling you it is important.
