I was just given an incubator and six hatching eggs. I am in a rush to set up the incubator, since I was not able to do it before hand. I put in three thermometers, in the same place, over night and they each say something different, with at least two degrees difference! What in the world should I do??? Only one can be correct and I can't figure it out! These are all I have, I don't know if I can go to the store and buy another in time. I put some hollow eggs in the coop, hoping my silkie will go broody so she can hatch at least three of them. I'm breaking down right now, what is the best thing to do?

I know how you feel!
They are the most aggravating part of incubating eggs.
I have 4 that I use in my incubator and most times they are different from each other.
All I do is take the average between them and then set my thermostat to that. So if you high is 101 and your low is 99 you are good to go at 100 average.

Sounds like a good idea! But unfortunately one went wacko - It says the temperature is -57

I kept moving the temperature up, then leaving it for a few hours, and one thermometer won't go up any further, while my third thermometer will. I may just risk it and use one thermometer. Is that a really bad idea?
