Hello, so a couple nights ago when I went to go and check on my chickens, I noticed that my rooster's comb was pretty sunken in, so I looked closer and saw ticks or mites on his comb. They are also on my other hens. How can I get rid of them? I know they are hiding in the feathers.

treatment differs depending on what they are.

Try to get a clear photo of them and post it here so people can help you identify the culprits and recommend appropriate treatment(s) for them. And it also helps if you say where in the world you are, because different things exist or are available in different countries.

Im in southern California. The culprits are tiny and black.

Here is a picture I got off the internet, but the mites look exactly like that. There is only like 3 or 4 mites on their heads.

I'm glad to hear the infestation isn't that bad! So how were they described/labelled/identified on the webpage where the photo was posted?
