Tidy cats litter can?

Hey y’all I just want to see if anyone has tried using a tidy cats litter can as a nesting box. (It’s the rectangular kind that holds 35 lbs of litter) if anyone has insight on why it works it doesn’t that would be great

I've looked into this, my issue is I don't have cats. So I use 5 gallon pails instead. Great for easy cleaning!!

I've used 5 gallon pickle buckets so I imagine the cat litter buckets would work too.

Buckets and tubs can be great for nesting boxes if they big enough. I have New Jersey Giants and they need a large room box.
I tried a couple of yellow 5 gallon buckets and the bright colors didn’t do well with the hens I had then. They were a RIR/neighborhood mix

I have seen many litter buckets as nest boxes on you tube and surely on BYC over the years.

I have never used them myself.

I have never heard of bright colors deterring hands, the buckets I have are bright colors as well. If they don’t like it I’ll just wrap the outside with some tape or something, maybe paint I’m not sure.

It helps to use the lid with a large hole cut on one side so it will still hold some nesting material in;.

I've used them too. Anything smallish and secluded will work.
