Hey y’all Jake here, so one of my females abruptly got this random head tilt and walks with her head turned and to the side. Now when she jumps to her perch, it takes her multiple times to land on it. She’s all discombobulated. But still shows her dominance to the other hens no problem, (she’s the beta) Some kind of neck injury? Please Thankyall much!

Check into Wry neck. It’s caused by a vitamin deficiency. The biggest concern right this minute is that she eats and drinks. You might want to separate her where you can monitor her intake so she doesn’t starve. What type of feed are you giving her? You could supplement her diet with foods rich in vitamin E.

It looks like she has Wry Neck which is a neurological symptom caused by vitamin deficiency, injury and disease like Marek's.
Try offering her 400IU Vitamin E along with 1/2tablet human B-Complex daily. Add some egg or tuna as a treat to give Selenium. See if that helps.

What type of food/treats do you normally feed?

Thanks yall! I’m feeding them all layena crumbles mixes with scratch and cracked corn. And for treats I give them lettuce and bread.

You can STOP on the bread. Look up foods rich in vitamin E. sunflower seeds top the list and they love them. In moderation. Don’t know what type of lettuce you give. There are many greens that are very good for them. No spinach please! Mine really enjoy romaine & butter lettuce. I never feed iceberg and I don’t eat it myself. Hang in there keep up your good work. Keep us posted.

Stop the corn and scratch grains, and bread. You can give a small treat once in awhile, but they will prefer the corn and scratch to their balanced layer feed which has all the required vitamins, minerals and protein. Bread can also gum up their crops, causing more problems. As Wyorp Rock posted, wry neck can be a result of head injury, certain diseases, and vitamin E or thiamine deficiency. Treating with those vitamins, plus a little chopped egg, tuna, or sunflower seed for selenium can treat for vitamin deficiency.
