My silkie/polish mix (19 weeks,) "Firecracker" had a five-minute time-out for being a jerk. Do you think a frying pan was too extreme? LOL!!!!!
(*I was playing with him...he seemed too comfy standing there*)
He's only charged and tried to peck me twice. He's scared to death of the others. I do understand the pecking order and I only have seven chickens. Five are hens. Lemonade, the big daddy rooster, is as sweet as he can be to me and his girls. Firecracker is a total outcast. He's always on the opposite side of the yard of the others. The only two he gets semi-close to are his sister and the momma who raised him. Even in the coop, he's on the highest branch or in the room of the coop no one else is in. I feel kind of sorry for him. Should I be thankful he's afraid of them or worried that he may lash out in retaliation one day? ;-)
I do love watching how the relationships and dynamics change, over time with my flock. They're so entertaining.
***On a side note: Firecracker sleeps next to Lemonade every night.
