time to move out

A lot of chicks hatched a few weeks ago and they were starting to smell bad in the house so despite the fact it's only 64F outside they went. I built a quick wire brooder today but it turns out my little serama chicks can fit through the bars so we'll have to cover it in hardware cloth later.

And a broody in the nest box:

She's only sitting on 4 eggs but I set a whole bunch in the incubator the day before she went noticeably broody so I have lots to stuff under her if she stays serious.

My coop is getting crowded.

I love your next boxes! I think I will be doing the same in my new coop. I used an old locker I had in the garage (on its side) - but the metal shelves are only 9 inches apart. It is plenty tall but not very wide.

I was thinking of a way to set up something mobile & quick.
