Time to trim?

So first of all is it time to trim my quails talons and how? Here is a picture for reference

If they have dirt to scratch in to file their own claws, it should be fine. I use a small nail clipper. Don't clip past the faintly pink part that looks like part of their nail, that would be kind of like trimming into the nail's body for humans. I would only trim as much nail that is circled here.

My suggestion is to make it so your quail have to climb on a brick or patio block to get food or water, all of my quail stand on a brick to drink and it keeps their nails nice and short.

Could you find something to naturally ware them down to add to their enclosure?

Hmm maybe but I don’t know where to find any big enough rocks
