I am pretty new to chickens. However, I am running into a problem with my PVC feeder. I filled it up and within the next day almost all of the feed was scratched out of the chicken coop. Some chickies were even getting all cozy and roosting in it?

I had an idea strike from buying a timed deer feeder at a yard sale. (Which I didn't really get a good deal on, looked up the feeder and it only ran around 25-30 dollars) This feeder/timer was set up to attach to any bucket or drum you had if you cut a hole in the bottom, probably the reason for the cheapness =/

Well any hoot, I was wondering if maybe someone could use this for a chicken feeder idea? Seems like it would def. reduce waste and rodents couldn't get into the feed. Unless of course it was on the ground? I'm not really sure it's still a rough idea. Has anyone else tried this approach maybe?

I haven't tried it, but it seems like it would be a sound idea. I'm interested to find out how it works for you or has worked for others.
