Tiny egg

My neighbour and I both have hens and ducks. One of his laid a really tiny egg today. It is not a bantam and we are wondering why this would happen. Any ideas anyone?

No it was not a first egg.

fart egg. I get them occasionally. Some have yolk, some don't. They're about the size of a marble.
