I am not new to chickens but am definitely new to hatching. I was thinking about hatching some frizzled Cochin/Silkie chicks soon but was wondering if anyone had tips on storing the eggs, breeding, and just any tips for the best hatch rate.
Our house can get pretty cold especially when we are not home, we have a wood stove. Is 50 degrees F to cold to store eggs or is it a good temperature?
Thanks in advance any responses are very appreciated.

That's a good temperature. If storing for extended period of time, over a week, I put the eggs in an auto turner.

Crack the eggs open and visually inspect fertility. Cochins may need some feather trimming to allow successful mating.

Thanks for the information. We don't have an egg turner so I was going to turn them by hand.
How many eggs do you think a Cochin hen could brood successfully? Also could a frizzled hen incubate the eggs the same way a non-frizzled hen could? I'm assuming yes but have never heard of a frizzled hen hatching eggs before.
