I'm planning on getting some Coturnix quails to add to my current flock. I used to have Coturnix quails, but they got killed by a raccoon and I don't want to make the same mistake again! I did some modifications to the coop but I'm still unsure if it'll make them live a little longer. Also, for Coturnix chicks (that are about a week old), should I keep them inside or outside? Anything will help thank you ! :)

PS what is the difference between jumbo quails and normal quails? Or are they just bigger?

Week old coturnix chicks will need to be inside for a while yet and may still need some heat. Depending on the temperatures where you are they may be able to go outside as soon as three weeks, but I would wait until 4-6 weeks.

The difference between jumbos and standards is just size.
