Tips ?

Welcome to BYC.

Wait until night time (no sense chasing him around in this heat, if you are in this heat) and then grab him off the roost. Grab feet, or sides, not the tail.

If he's roosting high up, get a hoe or something similarly shaped, slide it up under his feet/breast, get him to step on it, and then lower it to grabbing distance. Works pretty well, just do it in near-total darkness or he'll try and get away.

If you have a building he's used to going into, herd him into it, set up a trap where there wasn't one before (block the exits so he's in a confined space) and close the door behind you. Grab him. It's helpful if you have good reflexes; I don't.

Tips on how to grab a scared rooster? It needs to be treated , but is too scared to be grabbed.
@sylviethecochin has given you a wonderful suggestion.
After sundown he will be dormant. Easy peasey catch.
Yes!!

This video circulated on here about a year ago.
We have a section of welded wire fence set up like a hedge maze. Kind of the shape of a snail shell. The bird we need to capture for what ever purposes is lured into the spiral and right into the dead end loop.
This is how we capture our free range Cockerels for cull or sales. Works like a charm. We came up with the idea from the construction of our pig chutes.
