Okay, so I have a few chicks separated from the main flock for health reasons, I made a post about what I'm calling the "Pecker trio" (was four pecking victims, but one got much better much faster because he wasn't as bad as the other three)

And another that I'm calling Stomper. S/he was dog piled one evening and I found it early the next morning during my routine check ups(the pens been modified now because of this incident, and we put a lining in it to round out corners to prevent future incidents)

And the time I found Stomper, it looked dead but I noticed breathing, so I've brought him in and have been coddling him since. His right wing isn't flapping when he tries to fly, and he limps when he walks. The peckers were moved to a brooder, so now Stomper sleeps in my room, because the peckers are much more lively and step on him.

But as I was saying, so I've been coddling him, holding him, letting him sleep on my lap, and neck(he actually nuzzles/rubs against me)
He cries when I'm not holding him or he isn't some way in contact with my person.

So, after us cuddling and watching tv, I was going to go to bed and I put him in the crate in my room, next to the heater, and he started crying. I wait a bit to see if I can resist him.
I relent and grab him this little nest/travel box I set up for him, and I bring it to my bed, he cries some more, til I put my hand inside, a finger or two under him and he goes quiet, then he starts purring.

I'd never heard this before, is it the same as a cats purr?
