Hello all,
So I have 2 call ducks and 2 silver appleyard male and female of each, my female silver appleyard has made a nest in a cut down but regrowing palm type tree, I was surprised as I thought my call female was the one who was going to be a mummy 1st but its my gorgeous moron bongo who is gathering her clutch together.
This is her 1st season (do they have seasons?) and has only laid 6 eggs so far, 4 of which she has laid in her nest.
My ducks have all of the garden to play in and do their ducky business, and at night they go back In the duckery at bed time. The nest is near the run of the duckery but outside it.
Now do I allow her to sit on the eggs? But this means that she will be outside overnight, or do I do the work for her?
I do have a puppy pen I can put round her but i wouldnt feel safe leaving her. Thank you for any advice
