How do I go about trapping a weasel? No shooting as we are in city limits.

My duck got it's head and neck ripped off and eaten

I am so sad. I put the other 2 on craigslist and they found a home within the hour. I couldn't bear to think of how I would deal with another one killing my ducks. I am just so sad. But it is time for the weasel to go. So any help on what live traps to buy would be great.

Thanks everyone...

Weasels are about the hardest things to trap. Not sure how to go about getting them.

We caught ours by putting a can of sardines into a chipmunk trap. (they can get out of anything with bigger holes)

A large rat trap should work too.
Put it in a box with a couple of small entrance holes so the birds cant access it

A rat trap, #1 long spring, or 110 body grip trap will do the trick. Use a fresh bloody bait, such as liver. For a weasel you can wire the bait directly to the pan/trigger with some success. They aren't trap shy and you don't need to disguise the trap. Make sure it is set where other animals/birds will not eye it, or as suggested above, make a weasel box with a rat trap or long spring trap inside with a small hole for the weasel to go in. Put the trap so the pan is more centered than right under the hole. Put the bait against the far end of the box inside. Wire it so the animal has to work it a bit. A small box trap should work too.
