I fed the chicks chopped strawberries, zucchini and cooked egg noodles. They wouldn't touch the strawberries but loved the zucchini and noodles. Do I need to chop these up for them or are whole pieces ok? 6 wks old..

Mine also have not touched the strawberries, licked the yogurt off of them though. They also had watermelon rinds, spinach and 4 quarter bowls of left in the cereal boxes the kids left behind. Silly girls why not the strawberries? Is it because they are red? I was told parrots are fearful of the color red, maybe chickens also?

I was so excited to get home and give them their treat (strawberries) thinking they would go crazy and they didnt even care. I dont think they ate one ...

Never fed my bird's strawberrie's.We have BOOOKOOO blackberrie's here and Poke berrie's too.The free ranger's ate all the fallen blackberries in coop's and field.I picked lot's and gave to the penned bantam's a alot.Poke berrie's are supposed to be a natural wormer for chicken's and they alway's got eat up here quickly.I planted some strawberry plants in garden year before last Weeeeeee those lasted a long time when the geese discovered them baaaaaa ,they didnt bother garden at all untill stuff was about ready to pick.Well Noo Geese this year and No garden either lol.A lot of my ducks varied too some like one thing other's wouldn't touch it.I just put it out if the chickens or ducks dont eat it the wild bird's will so no waste.Putting eggshells in now that got some many graduated outside at least till they can consume grit etc.My Silks free range right now but not laying yet so...
