I want to get some opaque stain on my OSB coop asap.
Does anyone know if it is too cold to apply stain?
Temps in 30-40's.

Thanks in advance

DH is a pro, and he's no help here. He says it should be on the label and if the label is gone, look it up online.

He also says it depends upon the brand, and sorry that he's not much help!

I'm with ranchhand -- read the label.

But I will say that I've never had good experience with staining or painting when it's cool, regardless of what the label says. Always ends up with a sticky surface. You might be able to pull it off if you do a side at a time and put up plastic and a lamp like they do at construction sites.

just did some a few days ago it was 40 with sun out started at 9am so had enough time to dry it was dry by 4 and 3 days of rain after it is sealed!
i never read labels lol mine was olympic poly

Menards has a self priming water based stain. It is called ultra. It is about 35 dollars a gallon and says use above 35 degrees. I think this is there top of the line stuff. I used it in a solid color.

I am also a pro.
It really does depend on the stain. Some are formulated to work at lower temps.
You will also want to make sure you have a few rain free days coming.
