I have 2 black copper marans pullets that are 3 1/2 months. For awhile they were sick, with one of them a bit more than the other. They had red swollen eyes, watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose, and then this past weekend they were getting lethargic. Last week they were on Albon, but it didn't help at all, so after 5 days we stopped (which was the time to stop anyway) and started on Tylan. Last night we gave them the 5th dose of Tylan, injectable. They look great, smell great now (before they had a sickly smell) all their symptons are gone except for the sneezing. Should I continue for 2 more nights....I heard 5 days preferably but no more than 7. Do some birds just sneeze? I have some Oxine coming and plan on using that on them too and in their coop.

Thanks for any help

You are going to need to make the decision. Are they sick enough to continue the dosing for 2 more days? Five days is the recommendation, but it can be used for up to seven.

Some birds do just sneeze, but with their history they are not just a normal bird.

I have a zero tolerance policy for respiratory illnesses, so I will not treat birds that show signs of illness. Bear that in mind. If I were in your shoes I would treat for the 5 days and call it done. You are entering the "chronic" part of CRD. You are going to be treating your birds multiple times until they pass on. It would be best to use any and all drugs as directed by the manufacturer. To do otherwise risks the birds overall health and may cause the bugs present to gain resistance to the course of treatment.
