Hi all,
So we have 2 roosters, Pop-tart (some type of game mix) and Titan (Rhode island red). Well about a month or so ago we finally added a run onto our coop & not too long after we noticed that Pop-tart was running Titan all over & trying to, I don't know, claim territory over the run area I guess. Pop-tart is attacking Titan and making him stay as far from him as possible. Titan started dropping weight, which he did the 1st time we ever put him & Pop-tart together. I thought it was due to stress but I wondered if he was actually getting to eat. The past few times I've went in the coop to check food, etc. Titan has run in after me & started chowing down. So today I was filling the feeders & here comes Titan with Pop-tart right on his heels and chases him right back out into the run & stands on the ramp in front of the door and starts crowing! Needless to stay I shoved him right off of there!
My husband and I are wondering if we should just cull Pop-tart & by cull I mean kill. He seems to always be picking on Titan but keeping him from eating is a whole other story and to be perfectly honest Titan is a much better rooster than Pop-tart. He treats the ladies very well & lets them have treats, whereas Pop-tart steals the ladies treats and pecks at them when eating their regular food. I am just over this rooster & I do hate to kill him but I don't know of anyone he could go to & I also don't trust anyone not to fight him b/c of his game background. He's also shown a little aggression towards my 4 yr old. I used to feel safe leaving her in there while I get the water and stuff but now that he has his spurs and has "sized her up" a few times I just don't trust him. I love him but I don't want to be dealing with an arrogant little rooster. Any advice would be great! Thank you guys!
