To feed or not to feed

You should get good, fresh food, especially for young chickens. Pass on the deal, and if possible go to the Supermarket and get stuff to make homemade chicken feed. It will be much easier. Try to find a recipe online that fits you and your chickens the best and try that. Otherwise, get the freshest food at the Tractor Supply.

Welcome! It is NOT easy or economical to make a balanced ration for chickens! It's tricky, and many ingredients will only be available in large quantities, and get stale before they can be fed.
Those bags of feed at the feed store, labeled with the mill date, are far more balanced and economical to feed! If you have at least several hundred birds, or thousands, and a nutritionist on staff, then mixing rations works.

Yeah totally can’t do that. At the rate I’m going I will have raised 250 birds this year. All but 12 I eat or sell. I’m not big enough to go to town with a flat bed. So I do 3-4 bag a month. Right now as it sits I have 30 broilers 3 weeks old
