I recently purchased 2 Buff Silkies and 2 Barred Cochin (all pullets) and now I am wanting to add a RIR, a SLW, and a Buff Orpington. Can I introduce them in the same coop and run or should I separate the bantams from the regular hens? I fear the bigger ones may peck at the others. If I get them as pullets too would they adjust to each other?

All responses are welcome.

Thanks in advance

P.S. Thank goodness for spell check.

I have standard chickens with my bantams and mostly it's okay. The bantams didn't really get picked on, but they don't like staying with their new flock so exit through the electric net fencing to do their own thing. There's one old EE that hangs out with them. If you're buying started pullets/cockerels, though, remember to quarantine them before introducing them to your existing flock.

I keep a mixed flock of bantams and regular hens. It's hilarious seeing the Orpingtons and my OEG bantam together; but, trust me, the banties are well able to hold their own.

LI have some black silkies normal and bantum sized, in a couple of weeks I want to let them out of their chicken ark, put the non bantams with the big girls and have the bantums sleep in the ark
