For those of you that live in the old tobacco growing areas especially burley these old balers are just about everywhere and most people will give them to you. Most are made of plywood and carriage bolts, no nails. Last week I took one of our balers unbolted the top header and the front door took them off and lay it flat down put 1x1 weilded wire on top where the door was and put a door where the header press was, very simple and makes a 12"X36"X36" brooder that will withstand alot of abuse. Just thought I would pass this along. Here is the baler/brooder standing up just as you would bale tobacco with the header and door removed. I added 2-2" cross members, covered with 1x1'' wire and made a door the full width. These balers are all bolted together. The 2x2 were part of the header, so all I had to do is cut them the right length.
