As of yesterday 3 of the pea eggs looked alive, i could see movement & veins..today 2 look like theyre internally pipping & the 3rd..well the veins are dissapearing & i dont see movement anymore

. Im crossing my fingers its still alive..i cant rememeber ever having one die so near the end. I still have the 7 eggs in the bator, ive jacked up the humidity ..but i cant tell what its at without my gauge..so hopefully its close to right.

i know they can hatch anytime now..if i have to hatch them myself i will..but..id prefer them to hatch on their own. how long should i let them be? ..i just dont wana risk them dying in the shells

in the meanwhile, after some of your responses about shipped eggs..well i decided to give it a shot & bought some silver pied eggs thru the mail. my guinea is starting to go broody & ducks are still sitting..even if i can get them under a bird for a week, I know that helps in a major way.

Bidding on eggs is a hassle..i just want to buy them outright..but i want colors..mixed colors..whatever.. no one local is willing to sell eggs, ive talked with some breeders- in fact the youngest they will sell is at 3mths..forget that.. If im going to take care of a bird, i want it to actually like me lol

We just got some month old-ish chicks shipped in. In the past I have always been worried about having pea chicks shipped but I change my tune now. I doubt I will order eggs again. These were very flighty when we got them but I try to work with them every day and they are getting better and calm. They only climb 1/2 way up the wall now.

theres always that chance to be able to tame them up. The only pied i ever owned, i bought him as an adult..from a flea market for $20 lol
he was the best investment i ever made..they didnt say they handled him,the sellers were old school country-folk ..well petey the peacock was so friendly, i couldnt even believe it..I was devastated when the neibors dog dug under my fence & killed him....theyre buried next to each other.

I hatched one chick out of 6 and so I bought two to go with him. PJ the one I hatched is my friendly bird but the other two that I bought when they were about two weeks old are very flighty and afraid. They didn't seem that bad when I bought them. Not sure I would have if I had known they wouldn't tame up like PJ. Hopefully they will get better with time. I hope yours hatches for you.
