Hello everyone, Today is supposed to be when my 7 eggs are to hatch.

I candled them 3 days ago just to check they were all alright and everything was fine.

I changed the humidity from 50% to 70% (works best for me) and by now ive normally seen movement, pipping or noise but I havent seen/heard anything...

So since none had pipped I opened the incubator and candled them all, all of them were dead inside apart from one (which actually doesnt now look like that one is alive as it hasnt pierced the internal air sac).

I just want to know whether this is just unlucky (due to the chicks dieing of internal disease) or something I may have done wrong, has anyone else had this problem? These eggs are out of the garden so i was expecting 6 or 7 out of the 7 to hatch. Its really upsetting when you lose a chick but to wake up and find they are all dead wasnt very nice.

If anybody could enlighten me on whats happened I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Well the egg isnt full black, the darkness three quarters and the rest is like blobby, unlike the usual where the egg is fully black apart from the air sac. I know they have died apart from the one, but that now isnt showing any movement and hasnt pierced the internal sac :(

Its only day 21. They can pierce the air sac on day 23. You never know. the blobby however does sound bad. Just give it a couple more days to be sure.

If they are dead: what kind of nutrients are the chicks getting? Good protein, good calcium, good vitamins? If these are off then embryos arent strong enough to make it full term.

Yes I will give them another couple of days just to be certain, hopefully i'll time it right and they wont all explode all over the kitchen worktop, but thats another story haha.

As far as protein and nutrients what do you mean? I just put them in the incubator and leave them :p if you mean the parents diet then yes they get good quality feed and mix of corn, mealworms, veg etc

Thanks

Parents diet. Usually late death means poor nutrition or infection.

Hmmmm, well Im sure it cant be the diet, like I said they get a good mix, but i dont know how all of them went downhill in only a couple of days :(
