Today was a good and bad day............ :(

Today something dug into my coop. It did it from a side that backs to the treeline that I usually dont check 24/7/365... and pushed through the hardware cloth. I trusted... Hotwire wasn't enough, hardware cloth wasn't enough....

I give up. Predators 15 Boyd 3 for the year up to today. I have no more birds, and I am tired of fighting a losing battle. I tore down the coop today. I will continue on this website of course, but until folks quit relocating predators to my area, I am going to quit giving Mcnuggets to those folks who are dumping dogs, cats, coons and possums. If it were legal to wack every human I caught doing this, the score would be much higher...

Sorry, I am done with chickens for a bit. Maybe if I find a new farm not surrounded by wetlands and forest I'll try again.

PS, the good news is it's St. Paddy's day and we went to the lent services

Oh Boyd. I am so sorry! I too lost all my flock about a year ago to bobcats. mom with 2 youngsters. we got them. We have since moved and so far so good. chin up!

Aww, you know one day your get more. We are slowly getting ride of the predators here but it is a never ending battle.
Only five years for church? Been longer here, maybe some day.
