Toe punching Bantams

Does anybody else have problems toe punching bantams? Or is it just me? Specifically Silkies.

The webbing will always rip or just get notched. I can never make a normal toe punch hole in the webbing.

I sometimes have trouble with some of the really small ones. If I wait till they are a few days old it helps a little.
