i bought a BR tom. he is strutting but has not made any sound at all. i have had him 2 weeks. he is in with 4 others that i am hoping and assuming are hens. when will he gobble and do they sometimes not gobble at all? he came from a man who had 3 toms in the pen together and mine was the smallest. his other 2 were gobbling away. thanks for an input

My toms gobble a lot, and nearly always respond when I "gobble" to them. The lower ranking tom gobbles far less, sometimes not at all in my presence. It may just take a while for him to get used to his surroundings.

Ours gobble when there gobbled at too. Also if I tap on a piece of wood or one of the vehicles. It seems thump thump thump gets em going. I do it just to hear them. They do it on their own too but not constantly.
Perhaps now that breeding season is coming yours will start.
