Tomato Plant - Safe to Eat?

The leaves are toxic in large amounts, mostly thou chickens are just looking for bugs on the leaves, not really eating the leaves in amounts that would hurt them,but they will mess your tomatoes up thou

Mine will strip our tomato plant of all and any maters. I finally built a pvc "box" around my tomatoes and wrapped it in bird net with a flap door on one side. Keeps all the birds out so we actually get to eat our tomatoes ourselves!

Thanks for all the replies. Since my free range area also happens to be my vegetable garden, it sounds like I'm going to have to build some PVC boxes to protect my veggies!

Mine inhaled 3 volunteer tomato plants that sprouted in their run this spring.
They also ate some volunteer poppy plants

Poppies can't taste good!
But they're still healthy,so

Mine eats them without any ill effects and still alive to this day! They love the fruit itself more than the leaves/plant themselves.
