Too close?

My chickens started roosting on top of the nest boxes at night so I put an 8 foot 1.5"x1.5" wood bar half a foot higher than the boxes. They love it! All but the Giant Jerseys roost up there. My concern is the bar is about 6" from the metal wall. Is that too close? When cold weather comes will that be a factor? Should I pull the bar further from the wall? Or am I just being chicken obsessed, go inside and get out of the heat?

You should probably move it about 18" from the wall. Helps keep the poop off the wall.
