Too cute to not share

Dove(tortie) and Bert(white and black) are two cats I am fostering for the Lincoln County Humane Society, Wisconsin. Bert is here while he waits for surgery on his ear, and Dove is here learning how to trust people. Dove has been extremely shy and only started to come out of her shell after she met Bert, but today she voluntarily climbed onto my lap for the first time! Yay Dove, I’m so proud of you for learning to trust!!

Good for you for fostering. That is something I could never do. I get too attached.

Well I started fostering a couple years ago with the specific intent to find the PERFECT kitten to add to our family, I had a very specific set of traits I was looking for and stuck to looking for only that. It took about a year but I found her, and 18 months later she is still perfect for us. But with the fostering I did while searching for my Abigail I realized I kind of like helping other animals too so since I had an extra bedroom open after my human kids have grown and flown I decided to keep doing it. I usually foster 2-3 groups per year-usually moms and kittens.
