I have two large white turkey chicks that are about 2.5 weeks old in my chicken house with my 12 ladies, and three banty's to keep them company. YEsterday was the first day the larger of the two turkey poults was acting like a little Tom. He was running around outside with his wings down and his tail feathers spread out in a fan... is it too early for them to know what they're doing or is this really a Tom? The other one is a little more docile and smaller even though they came from the same clutch of eggs and hatched on the same day. Maybe she's a girl?! This is my first time raising Turkey's and they are so cute and fun. I am going to eat them for Thanksgiving though.... well I keep telling myself that, we'll see when it comes time, just dont tell the man of the house that!
