hi guys,

just wondered if anyone thinks its too late to hatch out chicks at this time of year? my last roochick went to his new home the other day so im broody again

bearing in mind im from the uk. any suggestions?? not that temperature is a big deal as my chicks are all reared in the house lol

I hatch all year round and don't have any problems. I've just hatched out three chicks (under a broody), three ducklings yesterday, and have another ten chicks due to hatch on Friday. If you're breeding for size then very early in the year seems to be the best time for that, like January/February, as those chicks always seem to end up bigger as adults, but if you're just worried about how the chicks will get on in the autumn and winter, they'll most likely be fine.
