Hi all
Still quite new to keeping quail, this is my first summer. I have about 20 coturnix outside. I hatched them from eggs, so the male to female ratio is more than likely off. And yes I know this is my fault. So far the boys haven’t been too bad, until today when I went out and many of the quail male and female were looking quite rough, especially one male who had his eye all squinty.
I’m thinking about rehoming or culling, but I just want to ask, would putting them in separate cages help? Or would the sight or sound of females keep them fighting? I don’t have a huge amount of space for coops so they would likely be next to eachother, just walled off.
