Too many Roosters...

Hello,
I began my first flock ever so excited to be getting 8 easter egger hens. However we ended up with 4 hens and 4 roosters...so we got rid of 2 roosters thinking with the 2 we had left being 1 was very dominate but the other seemed to protect the girls. So now about 2 weeks later the dominant one became aggressive trying to own all my girls that didn't want anything to do with him now the other is following behavior. Also since we had so many roosters we got 6 hens from tractor supply which my roosters don't seem to care they are only about 8 weeks old.... atm I separated the 2 roosters that are about 5 months oldand I'm hoping my hens will go to bed and calm down. (As they have refused the last 2 nights to go in and deal with the roosters. But should I get rid of the roosters or keep them in the separated pen I had created for the new chicks until they were ready to be Integrated?
I have the exact same problem. You can try to rehome the roosters or try separating them in a bachelor pad. Welcome.

Welcome! Team get rid of both! Lol. (Or, without being too rash, follow previous advice to separate temporarily and reintroduce the more mellow male, just to keep your EE / layer flock going.)

If you "eventually" want to have two pens for meat and eggs, 1. there is time to get your hands on a better cockerel / stock for your meat chicks, and 2. EEs are not the breed to use for meat. These hens will lay pretty eggs for you, and meanwhile you can use BYC as an incredible resource for raising meat birds. Bielefelders, New Hampshires, that American/French one that's getting popular right now (why can I not think???) many other dual purpose and /or heritage breeds such as Australorps, White Rocks, Delawares, Sussex, Marans etc etc etc OR just get yourself a batch of Cornish cross - whatever direction you choose to go, you can make a more informed decision that way. But I personally would not bother trying to raise EEs, Ameraucanas, Leghorns, Campines etc for MEAT. Welcome to BYC and GL!
