My two 2-week old ducklings are both laying down almost all the time and when they do stand up they are wobbly. I've been putting 100 mg niacin capsules in their water since they hatched, 1or 2 per gallon, 2 or 3 when a lot was being spilled. Yesterday and today I gave them each 1 ml of B-complex because of their issues standing, but today it's worse if anything. Could it be too much niacin rather than not enough? They are Anconas.

Too much niacin is rare, from what i understand. You might try dosing them directly fir a few weeks to see if that helps.

What is the protein percentage in your feed? I wonder if they are gaining weight faster than their little legs can handle. TOTAL guess. I am just trying to narrow it down.
Their feed is an 18% starter. Right after I wrote that I looked outside and they are both standing and walking around more than I've seen them do the past few days. I think I will try to keep giving them the B-complex like you said. Thanks for the reply!

Keep us posted! Anconas are ADROABLE. Pics are not necessary, but greatly appreciated!
:D

Niacin is a stimulant to blood circulation, and may dilate the blood vessels. In sufficient dosages, it may cause a bit of wooziness and/or hot flashes in humans, so I would assume this could be true also for animals. It's not harmful, just a temporary effect; but it might do no harm to experiment with dropping the niacin supplementation for a day or two to see what happens. If that makes all the difference, I might try reducing the dosage.

They are a tricolor boy and an overmarked girl. I'm hoping to breed them for some well marked e+E babies.
