Too much turning?

Can I turn the eggs too much during the incubation process? I am building an incubator that will rotate the eggs, is 8 times in one day (rotates every 3 hours) too much? I know that the eggs really only need to be rotated 3-5 times per day but I like the 3 hour intervals better because it gives me a chance to see it happen.

All I know is my Bantam Cochins were fighting over the eggs all the time rolling them around and they scrambled them completely. I turn alot of my eggs only twice a day and they still do great.

A study I read several years back pretty much said that the more turning the better, within reason of course. Don't get ridiculous. 3 times a day is enough. 5 times a day is a little better but only marginally, there isn't much difference. I'd consider 8 times a day, once every three hours, fabulous, though the results aren't going to be all that noticeable unless you are hatching thousands of eggs.

On a commercial level it might make a small difference. On our level you will not notice it.
