Too young for scratching?

My 3 buff orps are about 9 weeks old and so far they have shown little interest in scratching up the grass in their enclosure. Should I provide a dust bath since they don't seem to be making one for themselves?

They like to dust bathe by instinct. You might consider using an old cat litter box, or just make a place in their run on the ground. Add a bunch of clean sand and some diatomaceous earth. They'll know what to do.
