Too young to worm??

I worm with the cow pour on ivermectin.. How young can I do it? I have 10 week olds that haven't been wormed yet?

I wouldn't use Ivermectin on your 10-week olds. They are a bit young for something that strong, and shouldn't have much, if any, in the way of a worm load. Personally, I don't like worming unnecessarily - too many chemicals...

Ok! I hate using chemicals too. HATE IT!! I did just worm the older ones, because I saw a worm or two and panicked.. Do you think all the preventive natural measures will be ok for my babies?? Garlic, avc, pumpkin seeds, pepper? I read on here once that all that is too much for such young ones. I would love to know what you use. I would much rather stay natural!!!!

Humans don't give medicine to their own when they're not actually sick. It would be kinda pointless for me to give my kids flu or cold medicine unless they were actually sick.

I haven't seen any. What you said makes sense. I'm pretty new at this and just wanna do it right!! Does the natural preventives work? I would hate to do nothing then all of a sudden the are over taken by the nasty things!!

I'm a firm believer in a healthy chicken won't have an infestation of worms, do what is needed to keep a healthy flock, good food, clean coop etc. My chickens do like garlic, I don't give them excessive amounts, I use DE in and around the coop as well. My oldest chickens are going on 3 years old and I've never wormed them, never seen any worms or had reason to believe there are worms.

Do you feed them the garlic by itself? Or soak it in there water??? What about ACV? Does that help against worms as well?

I have only given garlic a couple of times, I buy dried garlic little bits for my horse and the chickens ate it!

It looks similar to the little spice containers of dried garlic you can buy in a grocery store, but cheaper if you buy the animal kind. (I think the one I used was Clithero's garlic - I purchased from Smartpak equine)

I also dried my own, chopped first and dried in my dehydrator, but it was so much work for such a little bit that I found it easier to just buy it.
