They were doing a Valentines Day pet picture thing. $5.95 per picture.
I put Audrey in her carrier and off we went. Got there a bit early and were 4th in line, behind some small dog. Cute little things. None of which were keen on sitting still on a red pillow to have their pictures taken
When we were next second in line. I took her out of her carrier.
I swear people thought they were seeing things. Some people came up and asked if they could pat her. People were doing double takes.
Most asked questions.
"Is it a rooster or a hen?"
"Does she have a name?"
"Is she a indoor pet?"
"How old is she"
"What breed?"
"Does she lay eggs"
"Do they peck at you?"
"Are they clean?"
"Did you get her here?
Others made comments
"Wow, that is so cool"
"She doesnt smell"
"Her feathers are soft"
Employees came from every dept. The girl taking the pictures said "This is different" and then "She was better than the dogs" when Audrey didnt jump around or take off. Manager came over and was excited about having a chicken in his store. Kept saying "This is cool"
My dh said he only saw one woman roll her eyes and say "Chickens are not pets." She was on her way out. If I had heard her I would have corrected her.
Anyway. I am going to have dh have the picture put on disc. But for now....
