Tornado the Turkey

I have a pet bronze turkey hen and she has a nest under one of our crab apple trees. This has been her 2nd nest since the beginning of spring. Is this normal or is she broody?

Is she sitting on eggs in the nest?
If so, I'd have to say she is broody.

Yeah she its on them. I know the aren't fertilized because we don't have a tom and I've checked

She is broody then.
I'm not familiar with turkeys but a lot of times people try to break their chickens from being broody, you may want to look into it.

Ok. I will try. But it made me really sad to do it last time cause she kept looking for the nest. She is like a dog though, she'll walk right up to you and plop down and she will let you pet her. She's my baby.

Something you may want to consider:
I know it can be unhealthy for chickens to stay broody...they will sometimes not eat as much..etc...

She is assuming the breeding position not because she wants petted but because she wants to breed.

Well, maybe, but she always calls for us. And my dad noticed that she gets all lovey dovey when she is about to lay an egg.
