So on the 27th six of them went through our town, three of which were right in our area. I am still in shock. Never seen damage like this in my life. We had the scanner on, heard them go by, & heard them say that homes in my grandparent's neighborhood were flattened.

We had cells (lost service due to power outage) but they only had a home phone, & both power & entire lines were down. I flipped out for about a day til we got to go out & check on them. I am amazed both they as well as their house, are fine.

The old neighborhood they live in that I grew up in is now in tatters. The worst one was going right for their place & skipped it, taking the house nextdoor and leaving only the foundation. There was a house in the road. ~shivers~ We're all alright in our family but the devastation is terrible. So many homes and some lives lost, it hit within a mile of us. The baby quail I've had was one week from needing heat & we're still without power (cells only, charged on car chargers) but the little guys don't

glad you are ok....

Thank you very much! Hmm, I'm unsure why but it cut off my topic. Basically just wanted to relate that the baby quail were 1 week from needing heat when we lost power but with the help of our wood stove they are going strong. All our animals made it through with us, along with the new additions: the feral cat outside fave birth a few hours before it happened and they made it through as well. My heart breaks for so many out there that weren't so fortunate. Did anyone here on the forum get hit? We're still waiting on power.

Glad you checked in with us and are safe! A few BYCers have been affected, yes. Each day we hear from another one or two. It is soooo good to hear you and the others are alive. Any thing else can be replaced. Your life can not. Such devastation. So very sad....

Best wishes to you and your community.

I'M glad you are ok. We have had bad flooding, and the phones were out for almost a week. They closed so many roads, I was afraid we were not going to make it home. The water has gone back down, but if it keeps raining we may get stuck again. Once the bridges flood, it gets bad. Same thing happened last year. We had twelve inches of rain, two days in a row!!! At least none of the animals drowned , but we had a double trunked tree fall on the goat house and killed one of my yearlings. I just hope the darned rain will stop for a few days. At least our home is intact, and we are ok.
